What to actually test

Most people load a trial, watch two minutes of a random channel, and learn nothing useful. Test the things that would actually annoy you later:

• A live game, not a rerun. Live sport is the hardest thing to stream well. If a match holds up, everything else will.
• Peak hours. Roughly 7pm to 11pm local time is when your neighbourhood’s internet is busiest. A stream that survives that is one you can rely on.
• The TV you will actually use. Testing on a laptop next to the router tells you nothing about the TV in the basement.
• Channels you personally care about. Channel counts are marketing — check the specific networks you watch are there. If something is missing, tell us and we will look at adding it.

If something does not work

Tell us rather than walking away. Most trial problems are local — weak Wi-Fi to the TV, an underpowered streaming stick, or an app setting — and take a few minutes to fix. As a rough guide, around 10 Mbps handles HD and 25 Mbps or more gives comfortable 4K. Stability matters more than headline speed: a wired connection to the TV solves more buffering complaints than any speed upgrade.
